RE:arrange

RE:arrange“ is the topic of the B.A. theses of the 48 art students of the courses “Motion- und Interaction Design“ of the Berliner Technische Kunsthochschule (btk).

The results will be shown at the Freies Museum Berlin from February 12 to 18. Beforehand, the graduates undergo their final examination at the Freies Museum, too, in order to then showcase their B.A. theses and all of the facets of the seven semesters lasting studies of communications design.

RE:arrange“ describes the process of redesigning and the digital reorientation in a world which has grown more and more complex.

In their work the graduates combine the digital with the analogue. The topics of the miscellaneous works range from corporate design concepts and the design of a board game up to concepts that display how children can be taught to deal with issues of journalism and research in a digital and playful way. How the little people will be able to express their dreams through drawing is only one of the themes. A digital illustration of Edgar Allen Poe’s short story “The Black Cat” shows that even classical literature is not missed out.

The Berliner Technische Kunsthochschule (btk) was founded in spring 2006 at the Potsdamer Platz out of the Berliner Technische Kunstschule which has been an academy of design.

Either institution belongs to the Verbund Technischer Hochschulen, one of the greatest and oldest private educational networks for design all over Germany having further headquarters in Hamburg and Rostock.

The private Berliner Technische Kunsthochschule focusses its future-oriented courses on many different fields of activity within the branch of media and communications. Professions like art director, motion designer, 3 D artist, TV designer, interface designer, web designer, graphic editor, multimedia creator or commercial director, only amount to a couple of designing occupations that are open to the graduates of Motion Design and Interaction Design. The “Bachelor of Arts” in the above studies is internationally accepted.

In October 2010 the btk has expanded the offer of studies to the B.A. studies “Photography” and “Communications Design”. All the courses of studies are state-approved.
