Lanònima Imperial is known by its experimental will to investigate in different forms of mise en scène. The set is always an aesthetic adventure, of high poetic content, in its mise en scène, dance near virtuosity.

Juan Carlos García, the company's founder and artistic director has been considered by the critics as one of the most brilliant choreographers of his generation. He has been awarded for his choreographic work and trajectory with both national and international prizes. Garcia is known for his strong and physical style, his constant movement research and for the extraordinary quality of his dancers.

Lanònima Imperial was founded in 1986. It's a contemporary dance company with a solid trajectory in the Spanish and international scene, and has toured in more than twenty five countries of three continents.

During these twenty five years, the company's choreographies have been co-produced by prestigious European and international festivals, theatres and creation centers, such as Vooruit Centre of Gent in Belgium, the Theater im Pfalzbau of Ludwigshafen / RH in Germany, the Holland Dance Festival , the Oriente-Occidente Festival in Italy, Festival Madrid En Danza, Festival Grec, Teatro Nacional de Cataluña and Mercat de les Flors, among others.
