A handbook of good practice on integration, drawn up by the European Commission, in cooperation with the National Contact Points on Integration. It was prompted by a call for more integration from Heads of State and Government at the European Council in 2003, with a view to sharing learning.
Almost 600 experts from government and civil society organisations came together to exchange ideas on these topics for more than 18 months. The resulting handbook covers important subjects including: the mass media and integration; awareness-raising and migrant empowerment; dialogue platforms; acquisition of nationality and practice of active citizenship; immigrant youth, education and the labour market.
