With just six weeks until the event itself, the new microsite for Siobhan Davies Dance’s major November project, ROTOR is now live at www.siobhandavies.com/rotor. ROTOR features an ensemble of performances, sound installations and artworks, by award-winning artists, based on ideas generated by dance. ROTOR will fill Siobhan Davies Studios in South London from 3-14 November; admission is £12/£6. An installation by Massimo Bartolini at the South London Gallery will be on view from 3 November - 12 December and live performances of work by Siobhan Davies, E V Crowe and Matteo Fargion there on 9 December.
The trigger for ROTOR is a new dance work (The Score) by Siobhan Davies which has been filmed from above and its patterns have in turn created a score for nine invited artists - including a composer, poet, ceramicist, photographer, playwright and visual artists - to respond to through their own artform.
ROTOR includes work by:
10. And visual artist Massimo Bartolini who presents a new work at the South London Gallery in the newly opened Fox Garden
Following its London showing, ROTOR moves to the Whitworth Art Gallery, the University of Manchester where it will be showing from 28 January - 6 February 2011.
