The Foundation's mission is to help improve people's living conditions. It focuses mainly on four programmes: 'Social justice', 'Civil Society', 'Governance', 'Funds & Contemporary Philanthropy'. It supports third party projects, develops its own projects on certain themes, organises seminars and round-table discussions with experts and citizens, and sets up groups to reflect on current and future issues. In addition, It gathers many funds from smaller foundations and encourages generosity and philanthropy in Belgium and the wider European society.
