Born in Mexico, Marco Chávez is Ph.D. student in Culture and Heritage Management at the University of Barcelona, where he works as researcher with a scholarship of the Government of Catalonia.
His dissertation is about a comparative study of subnational arm's length agencies for culture in Scotland (UK), Catalonia (Spain) and Jalisco (Mexico).
Master in Culture Management by the University of Barcelona and Master in Comparative Studies in Art, Literature and Thought (MA) by the University Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona).
He also researches and writes about cultural management in virtual worlds (Second Life).
Founder and director of Opera Joven, AC (www.operajoven.com), a non-profit and non-governmental organization (NGO) intended to promote arts, culture and education.
