I am a cultural operator from Iraq working between the Middle-East (Syria, Lebanon, Jordan...) and Europe (France, Germany...). I am specialized in performing arts (BA in Theatre Studies) and have 10 years working experience in music, theatre and intercultural and multidisciplinary projects. I am also a free-lance journalist, researcher, translator (Arabic - English - French), and I have 4 years teaching experience in the field of performing arts. I have a special interest in implementing new projects in the Middle-East, building bridges and discovering new music and performing arts talents from Syria and the region. I am also the president of a Paris-based non-for-profit association: Abwab - Association for the Development of Arts & Culture from the Arab World; with a special focus on music, creative writing and cultural policies. I am also a member of boards of experts for international funding programs and festivals. Furthermore, I have an experience in Capitals of Culture since I was the music curator for Damascus Arab Capital of Culture 2008 (local and international program, implementation of the first world music festival in Syria...). Since April 2011, I am the Grants Manager of the Young Arab Theatre Fund a.i.sb.l in Brussels.
