I am currently a Von Humboldt Foundation experienced research fellow at the DVA – Institut für internationale Popularliedforschung in Freiburg (Germany). I received a PhD in comparative literatures at the Libera Università IULM (Milan, Italy) and worked afterwards as a lecturer and researcher in urban studies at the University of Helsinki (Finland).
My main interests are popular music, cultural representations of cities and subcultures. I am currently working on a book entitled ‘Dramatizing the crisis’ about declining industrial cities and popular music in Europe in the 1980s.
