Sync is a leadership development programme for disabled people in the arts and cultural sector, funded by and part of the Cultural Leadership Programme-CLP. It provides online and face to face opportunities for disabled people to think, learn, talk, write, reflect and find out more about leadership and leading, encouraging people to think about their own perspective.

Currently Sync has an online programme open to all disabled people interested in leadership and working (or aspiring to work) in the cultural sector and is hosting a number of introductory sessions across the UK to explore a wide range of disabled people’s perspectives, not just those with different impairments but also with different 'takes' on disability.

Sync is reaching out to capture different voices - from those who embrace the cultural identity their impairment gives them and those for whom their impairment is just a sometimes inconvenient part of their lives.

Anyone with a disability or long-term health condition, interested in leadership and working (or wanting to work) in the creative and cultural industries is eligible to join Sync. Joining Sync will give you access to monthly e-bulletins, invitations to face to face training and events, and opportunities to apply for a bespoke training programme including personalised coaching and/or leadership placement activities.

Past initiatives of CLP on leadership and disabiliy, in collaboration with DALI (Disabled Action Learning Initiative) includes the debate event High Time - that created the space for an open dialogue, enquiry and engagement for current and emerging leaders within the creative and cultural sectors - from a disability perspective. The key objective was to bring together key disabled leaders to discuss, explore and identify effective action to be taken in leadership. The full report High Time: Dialogues on Leadership is available online.
