The Companhia Urbana de Dança exists in Brazilian scene since 2004 and is formed by a group of young guys, afrodescendents,, inhabitants of areas popular and slums in Rio de Janeiro, They would be easily included in statistics of violence of the city of Rio de Janeiro and Brazil, but have in the company an area of artistic expression, socialization and trainning. The dancers have become multipliers and teachers in different styles of urban dance and hip hop in workshops and references of paths for the life of young guys from similar origin. And more: imprint, in their activities, the knowledge acquired in the work of the Company on movements and sonority outside the commonplace, contributing to a qualification : aundience and themselves.
