Contemporary Shadow Theatre Company needs your Feedback

Leon Conrad | 18 Mar 2012, 09:25

ShadowStage Productions and the LOST Theatre present
two Work-in-Progress showings of their forthcoming co-production:
‘If Ever…’

"I’ve seen a child cry and I’ve seen a child smile.
I like the smiles and it is really important to me that I helped make one."   Linda Bremner

‘If Ever…’ is a contemporary shadow theatre performance inspired by a true story that is expressed through the medium of light and shadow…

‘If Ever…’ is an incredibly moving story about a child struggling with blood cancer and how his mother deals with his sickness. It’s a heart-warming tale of a mother’s love for her child and her sympathy for many others.  It’s a story of how a woman helped thousands of children with just the power of the written word and inspired many other people after her to continue to reach out and help people who had lost all hope in the world.

‘If Ever…’ is told through the medium of contemporary shadow theatre, a fantastic approach to theatre where, instead of seeing an actor, you see their shadow. No puppets or illusions – just a shadow, brought to you by ShadowStage. Founded in 2009 by Leon Conrad, ShadowStage is the only theatre company in the UK to specialise in contemporary shadow theatre using the human form. This amazing technique brings life to something otherwise inanimate.

‘If Ever…’ is a beautiful story that will make you laugh, cry, possibly at the same time. A gorgeous experience, suitable for audience members aged 12+.

In an age of e-mail, text messaging and the internet, ‘If Ever…’ tells the story of how a very special charity called Love Letters, Inc. came to be. This new piece celebrates two wonderful things that the world today doesn’t always fully appreciate: shadows and the power of a hand-written letter.

Come and enjoy the magnificent art that is contemporary shadow theatre.
Come and have an incredibly detailed photo of your shadow taken after the show.
Meet the cast and crew and contribute your feedback and views to help progress the performance.

The Work-in-Progress showings of 'If Ever...' will take place
Where:
At the LOST theatre, 208 Wandsworth Road, SW8 2JU
When: Tuesday 3 April and Wednesday 4 April 2012 at 7:30pm
Age Range: Suitable for 12+

The story of Linda Bremner, founder of the charity, Love Letters Inc., inspired this production and a percentage of the profits from this production will be donated to the follow-on charity, Love Letters: Random Acts of Kindness, Inc., run today by Kaitlyn Chana.
