A Dutch online platform that allows talented Dutch writers to publish to a large audience, and get immediate feedback from the readers.
Based on the first ten pages of a manuscript, the readers can choose to invest in the book by buying shares in the manuscript. If a book has sold 2000 shares within four months, it is published by one of the partner publishers. The profit of published books is shared by the writer, the shareholders, the publisher and TenPages.com.
The site was launched in 2010 as the first professional crowdfunding platform in the book publishing industry and has grown into the largest crowdfunding platform in the Netherlands. TenPages is currently open only for manuscripts in Dutch, but is looking to set up partnerships with local foreign partners to extend the concept internationally.
