Culturelink team should be proud to celebrate this year the 20th anniversary of the network’s global actions. One of the unique, hybrid and multi-dimensional cultural networks in the Adriatic Euroregion, Culturelink Network has proven to serve its members (both through electronic means and “offline”) in an efficient and actual way. The mission of the network is “to strengthen communication among its members, encouraging international and intercultural communication and collaboration, as well as joint research projects.” In a long-term the aim of the team is "to develop a world-wide information system for the study of cultural development and cooperation". The network members are over 1000 - institutions and individuals from over 100 countries worldwide, engaged and interested in cultural development, cultural policies, cultural management and cooperation.

The promotion of joint regional, interregional and international research projects is one of the main areas of work of Culturelink Network. Numerous research studies have been undertaken in the fields of cultural policy, intercultural communication and cultural identity, and the impact of transition in the field of culture. Besides research, activities of the Culturelink Network include: development of the Culturelink Databank (consisting of Cultural Policy Database, Cultural Development Database and the Bibliographical Database); publication of the printed review Culturelink; the Culturelink Directory Series (directories of institutions and databases in the field of cultural development) and Culturelink Joint Publications Series (published proceedings from conferences organised by the Network). The network regularly organises conferences, seminars, courses on cultural and communication issues. The team runs also the Documentation Centre for Cultural Development and Cooperation which holds numerous documents, books and periodicals in the fields of international cultural development and cultural policies.

In addition to Special Issues of the Culturelink review, the Network publishes various publications, studies and proceedings, including the http://www.labforculture.org/en/Culture-News/Contents/News/C-News-Culturelink-Network%20" target="_self">C-News electronic newsletter.

Two of the recent projects of the Network are:
Cultural Diversity, Intercultural Communication and Digital Culture – a research project, reflecting on the UNESCO Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions. The main purpose of the research is the investigation of the interconnection/interrelation of cultural diversity, intercultural communication and digital culture as basic developmental resources leading towards knowledge societies.

Connecting Croatia - a project that aims to track the interconnectivity between Croatian web-based space and the international realm of the virtual world, analysing how this interconnectivity fosters international cultural cooperation.

Samples of completed research work include:
• Dynamics of Communication: New Ways and New Actors
• Redefining Cultural Identities: Cultural Industries and Technological Convergence
• Redefining Cultural Identities: The Multicultural Contexts of the Central European and Mediterranean Regions
• The Mediterranean: Cultural Identity and Intercultural Dialogue
