Analysing cooperation in cultural and artistic projects we could come to the conclusion that most of them are focused on region with which they share most similar cultural, historical, social and other inheritance.

So, some of the projects which are published in this section problematise particular aspects of Central and Eastern Europe. After the collapse of Communism, transitional period started in countries of this region. During the process this region experiences similar or even same problems in almost all segments of the society. Therefore, it isn't suprising that many cooperation projects, artistic and cultural, address various aspects which connect these countries – with the basic tendency to provide better presentation, connection, eduction or production of new values.

Young Blood involves monitoring the production and overall situation of the emerging generation of architects in Central Europe, presenting their work and defining its qualities to the wider world. Ex Oriente Film is workshop for participants from Eastern and Central Europe. It offers a complex programme for documentary producers and directors on how to manage a production company, develop their documentary projects in international co-productions and how independent production companies work in the European market.

Komunikacija is educational programme for young people in unstable regions of former Yugoslavia with unsolved ethnic problems. Photography is used during the process as a tool as one of the most objective art mediums for establishing communication. Clubture regionalna inicijativa was a pilot phase of the programme exchange and collaboration project between independent cultural and civil society organisations in the former Yugoslavia. Videoletters, the television series, was broadcast simultaneously by the public TV stations of all the countries of former Yugoslavia, marking an instance of cooperation unprecedented since the wars of the 1990s.

Lenin is mine is a live multimedia performance based on the true life experiences of artists from ex-communist countries, working together with artists from western countries. The figure of Lenin, often misunderstood by history and widely abused by political systems, is used as an emblematic figure, embodying human contradictions, confusion and doubts. Artists work on Lenin’s figure, making it theirs, using it to express their personal vision of today’s world, feeding their creative process with their own experiences, extracted from their own lives and artistic careers.

The Domino Project supports intercultural exchange between Western Europe and the Balkans through audio-visual expression. Hardcore Workshop Exchange is part of a programme of cultural exchange between Western Balkan and Nordic countries and aims to make a connection between the two regions through contemporary dance.

If you are interested in further exploration of this region I am sure that blog of my colleague Lidia which is also focused on Central and Eastern Europe can help you.

In case that your cooperation on cultural and artistic project isn't yet in this section, please feel free to add it here.
