This collection of papers is the result of a 2001 conference on "Redefining Cultural Identities: Southeastern Europe" held in Dubrovnik, Croatia. The contributing authors reflect upon the need to approach cultural identity issues in the light of recent transitional developments, the disintegration of Yugoslavia and the intense efforts made by all Southeast European societies to find new means of cooperation.
