
Nada Švob-Đokić is Senior Research Adviser at the Institute for International Relations (IMO), Zagreb, Croatia. She graduated in English and French Language and Literature from the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Zagreb (1968). She holds an M.A. in African Literature, University of Zagreb (1970), and a Ph.D. in Literary Studies (Development of African Literatures) from the University of Zagreb (1979). Her research areas include global and national cultural and scientific development, transformation and transition, development and transitional policies and strategies. She has been particularly involved in problems of multiculturality, intercultural communication and management of cultural differences, and carried out research in African and Southeast European countries. She is the author of about 300 published books, studies and articles and editor of several proceedings published internationally. An important part of her professional work has been devoted to the establishment, development and supervision of international cooperative networks. She has worked as a consultant for the UNDP, UNESCO, the Council of Europe, and the EU. Ms. Švob-Đokić delivers lectures at university postgraduate programs in Croatia and abroad. She is Director of the international postgraduate course on Cultural Transitions at the Inter-University Center (IUC), Dubrovnik, Croatia.
