A Dutch foundation that promotes visual arts, design and cultural heritage, both in the Netherlands and abroad. Support is given to organisations that offer the public access to visual art, design and cultural heritage, such as museums, exhibition venues and libraries.
Mondriaan Fonds offers the following support:
- Grants that allow artists and designers from the Netherlands to exhibit in other countries.
- ‘Arts Collaboratory’ to support artists’ initiatives in non-Western countries and to promote international exchanges and the exchange of knowledge with visual arts organisations in the Netherlands.
Other activities include annual orientation trips for curators and journalists, a visitor programme to introduce Dutch contemporary art to foreign art professionals, and support to participation in art fairs worldwide. The Kultur A programme supports projects to reinforce the cultural infrastructure on the Caribbean islands of the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba.
