The centre carries out education and research activities in the area of social entrepreneurship, social enterprise, welfare studies and civil society. It has pioneered Europe's first Masters in Social Entrepreneurship.
Founded in 2007, it is based in the Department of Psychology and Lifelong Learning at Roskilde University Centre just outside Copenhagen. It conducts contract research, most recently on welfare to work policies in Denmark, and is establishing an extensive research programme for doctoral students.
