"I am seriously concerned with the human impact of the financial crisis in the poorest countries. Tens of millions of people risk falling back into poverty as economic growth slows or goes into reverse. Unless we take decisive action now and with urgency, the financial crisis will unfold into a development crisis. The significant progress made in April at the G20 summit in London shows that collective international action is possible, and that leadership can turn our shared values and interests into actions, even while setting out clearly what still needs to be done."
