"The Foundation supports the development of an open, democratic society in Poland and other Central and Eastern European countries. Its key priorities are enhancing the role and involvement of civil society, promoting civil liberties and the rule of law, and developing international co-operation and solidarity. It operates mainly through grantmaking but also serves as a forum for activity, organising conferences, debates and training seminars, publishing policy papers and reports, and initiating awareness campaigns. Some projects of the Foundation were handed over by partner institutions that are also useful to research in this context.
