An opportunity for Nordic visual, sound and performing artists to participate in a series of innovative cross-over events. d!sturbances also gave the public a chance to witness rare collaborations between artists of many disciplines.

Designed by Louise Beck in collaboration with Anders Beyer, d!sturbances was a cross art manifestation that took place in Denmark. Copenhagen played host to a dynamic symposium attended by visual, sound and performing artists in an attempt to illustrate the latent potential of the interplay between sound, space and movement. The aim of d!sturbance was to stimulate the synergy generated by creative minds.

Some 80 Nordic artists from the full range of artistic disciplines gathered at five workshops conducted by leading international artists and directors to develop ideas across artistic borders.

As a supplement to the workshops, a number of panel discussions, master classes, lectures, concerts and other events were arranged. All of them represented some of the most visionary thinking within the realms of contemporary art, theatre and music.

The two Nordic art institutions NordScen (performing arts) and NOMUS (music) under the auspices of the Nordic Council of Ministers were mutually responsible for coordinating the d!sturbances programme.
