Swiss Cultural Programme in the Western Balkans (SCP)

It promotes democracy and freedom of expression, conflict resolution and the respect of minorities in the Western Balkans. It primarily fosters regional cooperation through capacity development, empowerment and promotion of cultural initiatives and organisations.

The programme supports two types of actions:

Cooperation projects: regional cooperation projects to strengthen cultural actors and platforms that may serve as agents of change towards a diversified cultural scene.
Small actions: one-off events, such as exhibitions, publications, stage productions, concerts, research, process-based projects in the field of art theory and practice, cultural policy, mobility grants, etc.

The programme also promotes international exchange projects between Switzerland and the Balkans.

It is run by Pro Helvetia, the Swiss Arts Council, on the request of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
