IDENSITAT is an arts project that investigates ways to impact the public sphere through creative proposals that work with place and territory exploring their physical and social aspects.
IDENSITAT positions itself as a networked production and research space, developed in the field of art, to experiment with new forms of involvement and interaction in social space.
iD #5. The fifth edition of the project will be developed between the end of 2008 and 2010 collaborating with different towns: Calaf, Manresa, Mataró, El Prat de Llobregat, Sondika, Barcelona y area del Priorat.
In November 2008, iD#5 opened an international call for entries, directed to creative proposals in the sphere of public space; proposals which have a cross-disciplinary perspective and a wish to interact using a variety of strategies in the social space of the contexts involved. These are Calaf, Manresa, and for first time El Prat de Llobregat.
Between November 2008 and January 2009, IDENSITAT received 310 projects from different countries, involving more than 500 people, since many were group projects. Following are the countries that had a significant presence, in descending order: Spain, United States of America, Germany, Italy, Argentina, France and the United Kingdom. iD#5 also received projects from Israel, Netherlands, Chile, Mexico, Canada, Portugal, Belgium, The Czech Republic, Ireland, Austria, Sweden, Hungary, Japan, Colombia, Uruguay, Ukraine, Puerto Rico, Scotland, Croatia and Panama.
The selection of 19 projects, plus the 4 invited add up to 23 projects to be developed during iD#5. The artists invited to develop projects for Calaf, Manresa, Mataro and Priorat are: Josep-Maria Martín, Democracia, Rogelio López Cuenca, and La Más bella.
The open call for entries has two categories, production projects and documentation projects. Other shared projects and parallel activities are also being developed in Mataró (with Can Xalant), in the region of Priorat ( with Priorat Centre d`Art), in Sondika ( with Consonni), and in Barcelona (with la Capella.)
