Develops strong cultural and artistic bonds between Portugal and the Orient, particularly with China.
The foundation organises a wide range of activities aimed to promote Portuguese culture and enhance the artistic wealth of the oriental regions. It includes artistic exchanges, exhibitions and music programmes that support concerts and performer exchanges in Macao, India and other regions in the Far East.
To a lesser degree it deals with theatre and dance and its broad field of action also covers education and science scholarships, philanthropy and support to Macanese communities.
