
Michelle Kasprzak is a curator and writer based in Amsterdam. Michelle has received several scholarships, awards, and grants for her work, and has exhibited and lectured across North America and Europe. Her curatorial projects include a combination of gallery exhibitions, video programmes, and online exhibitions that have been presented in public galleries and artist-run spaces, major international film festivals, and on key cultural websites. Her critical writing has been published in an anthology, in several Canadian and European periodicals, and on numerous cultural websites.
Currently Michelle is Curator at V2_ Institute for the Unstable Media, and Project Director of McLuhan in Europe 2011. V2_ is a Rotterdam-based interdisciplinary center for art and media technology. V2_'s activities include exhibitions and events, publishing, residency programmes, and archiving. McLuhan in Europe 2011 is a Europe-wide initiative celebrating the intellectual legacy of Marshall McLuhan on the 100th anniversary of his birth. McLuhan in Europe 2011 is supported by the transmediale, Embassy of Canada in Berlin, Gingko Press, and BlackBerry.
In addition to her past and current work in key job posts with multiple organisations in the cultural realm, she makes additional contributions to the arts and culture field as an advisor, consultant, juror, and committee member for many organisations worldwide. Michelle is a member of IKT, the International Association of Curators of Contemporary Art, and is an Expert (Culture) for the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency, European Commission.
