A German philanthropic foundation which seeks to strengthen 'the understanding between peoples and cultures by bringing people face to face and helping them to cooperate with each other'. It supports international relations between Western Europe and the USA as well as between Germany and Central and eastern Europe. Programme areas of grant making include culture, education and society. The foundation's German-language website also contains pdf files in English.
