The report provides an account of the ERICarts Workshop held during the 3rd Session of the European Cultural Parliament, December 2004 in Genoa, Italy. Artists active in different fields of media-related arts and experts dealing with research on work conditions of artists and with legal questions discussed traditional and new approaches towards intellectual property rights, including the "creative commons" approach. Case studies and recommendations to European lawmakers complement this experimental discourse.
