Based on a simple and unique idea: a moving short film festival that travels throughout Europe. It promotes young European film and stimulates the exchange between film-makers and the audience. Moviemiento defines itself as a forum, connecting people and cultures by way of film.

Since 2003, moviemiento has taken European short films on the road and brought them to a wide audience across Europe. The idea of bringing the cinema to the people by mounting an open air screen on a public place with no entry fee found was positively received. In 2008 moviemiento is leaving the highways and getting on board a sailing ship, on which it will travel along the Baltic Sea Coast.
