An analysis of the specificities of the position and experiences of workers in the creative industries in south-eastern Europe.
The author argues that the creative industries reveal important aspects of the social changes taking place in south-eastern Europe, in parallel to the democratic transformations taking place there. This research work shows that the underlying characteristic of cultural workers is that of double insecurity – of precariousness of creative jobs, and on the other hand that of working in the transitional economy. The book contains an interesting glossary of the terms and concepts used, the interview questionnaire as well as a good insight on the methodological choices. This research was the 2005 winner of the Cultural Policy Research Award.
