The report gives an overview of the social and fiscal situation of artists in Austria, Denmark, Ireland and Luxembourg. It also sketches aspects of artists' career paths along with relevant education and training issues. It assumes that the situation of artists depends on their working environment, which requires national level interventions in order to effect change. Significant elements and processes of relevance for that environment are being dealt with in this report.
