Beginning in 2002, the annual Festival in Chisinau features European and global artists in a four-day event of concerts, workshops, symposia, exhibits and TV programmes. The event, to promote creativity and respect for diverse traditions, supports contemporary folk music and features trios from Europe incorporating local cultural idioms into improvisational music. With the rising exodus of artists and intellectuals, the Festival also aims to reconnect Moldova to innovative global culture.

The event tries to promote intercultural exchange. It aims to “point out that modern culture is shaped by showing respect for traditions of people from different countries." The Festival aims to popularise diverse folklore in a contemporary style.
