A forum bringing together different political and ideological voices and promoting a free and multidisciplinary cultural life. It aims to stimulate dialogue between different sectors of society and age groups, as well as different geographies. It promotes Portuguese cultural heritage and its role in the world in relation to other cultures. The European dimension is also an important and growing focus, with traineeships, artists' grants and exchange programmes, run together with other European partners. The website gives a comprehensive overview on the CNC's broad range of activities: exhibitions, publications, training courses, study trips and conferences etc.
