A centre of the Birkbeck College, University of London, it brings together the research activities of the staff and research students in the Department of Media and Cultural Studies, as well as academics from other programmes across Birkbeck.
The research incorporates a range of interdisciplinary practices within the academic fields of media and film, arts management, music, creative writing, screenwriting, journalism, performance studies, law and cultural studies. The centre participates in a broad range of interdisciplinary research projects.
The centre offers a varied programme of events, including workshops, seminars, roundtable discussions and film screenings.
