NON-REIMBURSABLE FUNDING FOR CULTURAL PROJECTS

The Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR) announces the launch of the 2008 sessions of CANTEMIR Programme

The Romanian Cultural Institute is a public institution of national interest founded in 2003 with the goal to enhance the visibility of Romanian cultural values internationally.

In 2008, the goals of the CANTEMIR Programme are to make Romanian culture visible and accessible in international cultural markets and to encourage co-operation between Romanian and foreign artists. Consequently, support will be given to cultural operators from and outside Romania who initiate projects to promote Romanian culture and civilisation abroad or take part in projects of cultural co-operation intended to encourage inter-cultural dialogue.
The project selection is structured in two sections for cultural operators from abroad:
SECTION II – PROMOTION/Culture to Go
SECTION III – CO-OPERATION/Culture to Share

ARTISTIC FIELDS
The project must fall within one or more of the following fields: literature, visual arts, architecture and design, theatre, music, dance, film, cultural heritage.

LIMIT DATES WITHIN WHICH PROJECTS SHALL UNFOLD
The project activities for which financing are solicited may unfold commencing 12 May (for projects evaluated within the framework of the first session) or commencing 15 July (for projects evaluated within the framework of the second session) and shall finish by 31 October 2008.
DEADLINES FOR SUBMISSION OF THE PROJECT PROPOSALS
• 21 March for the first evaluation session;
• 16 May for the second evaluation session;
The second session will be held in case the budget will not be exhausted after the first evaluation session.

ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS
Foreign or Romanian authorised private individuals or private/public legal entities.

MAXIMUM VALUE OF FINANCING
The total indicated budget available for each section is 237.500 EURO.
The maximum value of financing that may be awarded to a project within the framework of this section is 50.000 EURO.
