
The design for the 2011 ON Festival by Porto Bay was a winner in the HOW International Design Awards. The renowned competition promoted by the American magazine HOW provides recognition for the exceptional creative work produced by creative individuals or groups from all over the world.
The image for the festival was created by designer Rubina Santos, who is in charge of Communication Design for the Porto Bay group. The ON image won 1st prize in the "MISCELLANEOUS MERIT” category out of the 15 competition categories. The prizes were awarded according to projects that met the criteria "showing an ideal mix of strategy, concept and execution".
220 projects were selected from almost 1,000 entries that were submitted. The winners were recently published in the special edition of HOW that came out in March this year. The panel of judges included Dale Doyle and Steve Gordon, well-renowned professionals from the design scene in the United States.
Out of the winning projects, this is the only Portuguese project . ..
HOW . .. is a leading magazine for graphic designers, whether working in individual practices, design firms, advertising agencies or in-house groups. HOW sponsors six annual design competitions, and hosts the largest annual gathering of graphic designers in the U.S.A.
