POETEKA began as a cultural initiative in Durres in September 2004, paving the way for the first International Festival of Poetry in 2005.
The festival aims to promote the new perception of authorial reading of poetry instead of the routine actors’ declamation. Many distinguished poets and writers have attended the festival so far from countries in Europe and around the world.
