A union of national and regional musical associations which promotes music bands and ensembles(wind, drum, bugle, piper and symphonic). CISM promotes around 35,000 such bands and ensembles, lobbying on their behalf, providing information about events and educational activities, arranging exchanges, organising congresses and workshops, and producing publications. Special attention is paid to youth projects.CISM is a member of UNESCO.
