A non-profit organisation with diverse goals in the cultural field, AEC aims to stimulate greater efficiency in governmental programmes and contribute to a deeper understanding of cultural economics and policy issues. It favours a balanced and sustainable economic exploitation of heritage and promotes partnerships between the public and private sectors in order to support cultural 'goods and activities'. AEC cooperates with international, European, national, local and and foreign institutions and agencies, both public and private. Membership requires a fee.
