This publication presents an analysis of the participation of Romanian cultural operators in the EU Culture 2000 Programme and provides 4 project based case studies. The number of Romanian cultural operators, projects, and funds are presented for the period 2001-2005. The author investigated the European added value of Romanian projects and concludes that Romanian cultural operators have faired well and have been attractive for external partners. In comparison with other countries from Central and Eastern Europe, Romania is listed among the top countries acquiring funds from this programme.
