The Encyclopædia Britannica invites selected authors to write on a wide range of topics, including culture.
Authors are usually recognised intellectuals and academics who are chosen "for their ideas and their ability to think, write, enlighten, and entertain". The website aims to contribute to an ongoing debate among the authors, but also with the public, via comments that everyone can make. The very rich archive can be browsed by categories, including "culture", "arts" or "architecture". The website provides RSS feeds and a free newsletter.
