wietskem

Based in Amsterdam since 2005, Wietske works as a freelance cultural worker for independent arts and cultural initiatives as well as for the European Cultural Foundation’s art, grants and the Princess Margriet Award programmes. With a background in visual arts, and after some years of work in the cultural field from radio-making, gallery administration to curatorial dabbles, Wietske is starting to trounce her artistic inhibitions and start making art again. As an artist she has been exploring urban food systems and ecologies: working collectively with others to create happenings from convivums to urban platforming events as proposals for aesthetic survival within present and future urban living.
