Inclusiva-net : P2P Networks and Processes
Medialab-Prado, the reference space for digital art and culture in Madrid, issues a call for papers to participate in the International Inclusiva-net Meeting.
Inclusiva-net is Medialab’s strand dedicated to research and circulation of network culture theory.
After the celebration of its last conference in Buenos Aires with the spotlight on arts and the net, for the 4th meeting the focus turns to “peer-to-peer” networks (P2P)- a topic continuously coming and going from the public debate, now with the Pirate Bay polemic at its front.
But there is much more to do with P2P than copyrights and bittorrents. The core themes for the Inclusiva-net meeting include: the concepts of “panarchy” and “P2P governance”, P2P networks in mobile phones, The relationship between P2P networks and Web 2.0 and others highlighting their social potentials as cooperative systems and also its legal controversies.
The meeting will take place in Madrid from 6 to 10 July 2009 and selected papers will be presented during the programme joining other invited lecturers and debates. These will also be published at the Medialab-Prado website and included in an e-book (Spanish /English).
Applications can be individual or in a group and, for those non-residents in Madrid, the organization supports the selected applicants with travel and lodging aid.
Deadline to submit papers: 31 May 2009
( NOTE: Submission paper can be a summary of the research- though full text is recommended. The deadline to deliver the final version for their publication is 20 July 2008 )
