Spent two days in Çanakkale (Turkey), seminar convened by European Cultural Foundation, Anadolu Kültür and City Council of Çanakkale. History is alive in the city of the Dardanels strait, very close to Troja, but future is theirs: local civil society has done excellent work in the project "Invisible cities", and prospects for sound local cultural policies seem very good. I was impressed by the leadership of the Mayor. The future of local cultural policies in Turkey is played in Çanakkale.
