The survey in the fields of culture and art become more and more important. It helps to find conclusion and recommendation for further development. It is also important contribution of all actors in this filed in the process of survey implementation. So I call you to answer on survey on intercultural dialogue which seeking your help.
Namely, as part of the preparations for the 4th World Summit on Arts and Culture in September 2009, the International Federation of Arts Councils and Culture Agencies (IFACCA) wants to open up a discussion with its international network on the claim that intercultural dialogue has become a new priority for arts and cultural policy makers around the world.
IFACCA, in cooperation with the European Institute for Comparative Cultural Research (ERICarts Institute), has developed a major survey on Achieving intercultural dialogue through the arts and culture?.
Several questions arise: what does intercultural dialogue mean? Is it really a priority in your country? What kind of policies or programs can arts and cultural policy actors develop to promote intercultural dialogue? What are the main challenges of national arts funding agencies in addressing intercultural dialogue from a policy or program point of view? What questions do you have?
It is understood that the concept of intercultural dialogue will have different meanings in different countries and that intercultural dialogue may not be part of the cultural or arts policy discussions in your country but is part of a wider discourse on cultural development or on social cohesion.
IFACCA and ERICarts ask you to contribute to this discussion by responding to questions on how you understand intercultural dialogue in the arts and culture in your country. Your response will form the basis of a discussion paper to be distributed to all participants to reflect on before traveling to Johannesburg. The results will form the basis of a panel session during the World Summit. They may also be able to invite artists you nominate in the case studies to participate in the program.
The survey is available online in English and French.
Please fill out the survey by 15 May 2009.
