Seminar on Creativity and Innovation in Cultural Cooperation Projects took place in Barcelona at the end of January 2009 in the framework of the European Year of Creativity and Innovation 2009. The seminar was organised by the Barcelona University, the European Network of Cultural Administration Training Centres (ENCATC) and the Interarts Foundation.

The organisers synthesized this seminar in 5 short abstract:
1. Recognition of the complexity of concepts and processes regarding creativity and innovation
2. Organisation and dynamics of cooperation
3. Social dimension of creativity and innovation
4. Challenges of consciousness–raising
5. Policies

Short description of those 5 issues you can read here.

If you are interested in some of the reflections and ideas on the topic which participants exposed during the seminar you can read them here in English or Spanish.

I am sure that some of ideas can be useful for your future cultural cooperation and re-thinking of creativity and innovation.

At the end of this very short post I would like to stress that today, in the time of deep crisis, we can not count on creativity and innovation as our only and strongest weapons. I utterly believe that we have to re-think what the roles of culture and art are and to try to find possibilities for the responsible culture which can integrate art in our society and consider real problems.

I also suggest you to read blog of my colleague Cristina Nurturing a new creative citizenship.
