Submissions are open until March, 15th for fifteen artists-grantees to participate in Rio de Janeiro throughout 2009 in a residency, creation and collaboration project.
coLABoratorio comes out from joining together the words collaboration and laboratory and it means an open research, experiment and interaction space. Personally it reminds me of the Portuguese word falatório which refers to conversation. I suppose this project involves also a lot of talking. And dance, of course, the core reason behind it all.
This call aims most at dance creators-interpreters but applications from theatre, music and visual arts artists will also be considered as long as the body is their main object of research.
