
This article is the first to analyse developments in the Polish cultural industries after 1989 and covers the following sectors: books and publishing, sound recording, film industry, press, radio and television. The authors examine the organisation and financing of the cultural industries; the ownership structure (Polish and foreign investment); state intervention in this sphere; supply and demand.
