Artists, Taxes and Benefits: An International Review

In 2002, the Arts Council of England commissioned a comparative review of the main features of tax and social security policies in Australia, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, and the Netherlands. This report forms part of a programme of research designed to provide an evidence base to underpin the Arts Council’s work with the individual artist, creator or maker. Of key concern to the report are the different tax and employment systems.
