This book presents the main developments and common principles resulting from cultural co-operation in the Europe over the last 40 years undertaken in the context of the Council of Europe. An analysis of cooperation activities in the sectors of education, culture, cultural heritage, sport and youth is reported on in the first part of the book. The second part examines integrating concepts, sectoral orientations, definitions and the overall situation of cooperation in Europe. It concludes that while many of the texts that have emerged on European cultural cooperation do not impose real obligations, they have created a set of common references from which to build.
