Cultural Policy of the Republic of Croatia - National Report, written in the context of the Council of Europe's Programme of National Cultural Policy Reviews, presents an overview of Croatian cultural policy up until 1998. After general introduction on the geography, demography and history of Croatia, a short assessment on contemporary Croatia is given. The second part of the report describes specific sector polices with a chapter devoted to internal and international cultural relations and Croatia's position toward European cultural cooperation . The final part of the report offers an evaluation of this policy. The government has subsequently set up a Council for International Relations and European Integration and pursues a policy of supporting cooperation projects between artists and cultural organisations rather than solely focusing on "government to government" relations.
